art We came to the Island to trace the steps of Paul Henry, an artist who worked on the Achill for nine years where he made his fame. He painted the “native” Irish. His paintings from Achill take your breath away.
Music: The Old Rambler

Sketch on Achill

There are several small villages on Achill
I found myself starring at this building almost against my will
I couldn’t tell the purpose by it shape or design
A buildings function here is hard to assign
Later I was told it had been used for many things
A hotel, an art school and now a jeweler making claddagh rings
They said Paul Henry once worked here
But you’ve missed him by many a year
