A bay side view of Dungaire. Located on a small island in Galway Bay near Kinvara it is a splendid example of an architecture of another time. When we first visted they had just opened a room for tea and scones. Seven elderly Scotish women struck a coversation which to my surprise rapidly became rather salty. |
A bay side view of DungaireThis is my impression of a Bay side view of Dungaire It stands upright, majestic with a daunting air Who were the people that built such a splendid keep A safe, warm and somewhat comfortable place to sleep It is restored now, but still grey and cold One wonders what stories could be told Imagine the local Irish and their rage At 1100 A.D., this strong-hold has significant age |
