art Grape Vine de Porto was inspired by the grapes growing in the Durro Valley of Portugal during a painting trip in October 1996. It was painted on the grounds of the Quinta De Cumbre.

Grape Vine de Porto

Hung preciously from the autumn colored vine
Grapes the size of thumbs, soon to be wine
The ripeness of color an invitation to dine

Sugar-sweet they explode their deep velvet taste
A crushed mouthful, not a drop to waste
Savored slowly, lingeringly, with the opposite of haste
