art Notre Dame from The Seine was inspired by our painting trip to Paris in October 1996. We painted for several hours on the banks of the Seine as the boats drilled passed. We were one of the sights of many tourists that day.

Notre Dame from The Seine

Sitting by the Seine in the early morning sun
Our Jambon sandwiches and bottles of wine in a sack
We smiled at passer-bys, waved at the boats and simply had fun
And meanwhile we painted Notre Dame from the back
The buttresses brightened by morning, literally flew
The background, a few white tufts, and the rest brilliantly blue
