art February 14, 2009 - Thinking of life, love and happiness that comes from many years of time spent with loved ones. On Valentines I reflect on love - my own love for others and the love I have received in return. My own belief is that giving is better for the soul than receiving. With this in mind I will examine every moment, every opportunity, to give love, understanding and patience to any and all that are near me - without conditions. I learned a new word which I am trying to figure out how it fits into my thoughts at present, but the word is limerance.

A Valentine’s Day

In a waiting room, waiting,
I heard our infant’s first cry
In a dreamlike state
My youth flashed by

Through the years,
With ample joys
And sweetened tears,
We added a girl to the boys

It has been a joyous life
For me and my wife
Looking back now I think I know why
I distinctly heard that very first cry

These very early sounds
Were the start of many rounds
It makes this Valentine’s Day
Special in its own loving way
