Benbulben In Sun-Kissed Mist was inspired by the geophysical phenomenon near Sligo as viewed from the hills above Carrick, Ireland on the Donegal peninsula in August 1996.

From Carrick, far across Donegal Bay
On a cool, brisk yet sunny day
A view of Benbulben takes one's breath away
Often hidden by the descending mist
It was, this day, by the sun, gently kissed
Evidence of the power of the wind
For over time it has been greatly thinned
Like forgiveness, for those who've sinned
