art Coming About is a small painting I painted for my son who is an excellent artist. It was painted after I watched a small boat struggling in the waves off the west coast of Ireland. The treachery has been discovered first-hand by many great sailing men over the centuries. The sea is so alluring and seductive, it is no wonder that so many have lost their way. I have a great respect for the sea.
Music: The Old Rambler

Coming About

Afloat in uncharted seas
Days are filled with toil and ease
You can do almost as you please
Provided you get a favorable breeze

The horizon hides places unknown
Unhidden as sails are blown
Some islands provide jam and scone
Whereas others are barren stone
