Taking the Ferry from San Francisco to Larkspur in Marin county more times than I'd care to count, I was often impressed by the suns reflection on the cliffs the the East Bay. It was a site that could be seen on a few days during the summer afternoons. One day this small boat sailed with the cliffs as a back drop and the memory stuck with me until I could get a chance to paint it. It is just one of the beauties of the San Francisco Bay.
