Glengesh Pass was inspired by the glorious views from the top of Glengesh Pass, County Donegal, Ireland. It was over this pass many Irish men, women and children climbed to escape the famine. Small boats awaited them at the ocean. It was for most, a last look at the beauty that they were leaving behind. It was said to have been like looking back over their lives one last time before they moved on to new adventures. Music: Mist on the Mountain (jig) |
Glengesh PassAt Glengesh Pass you climb to the topThere, to catch your breath, you turn and stop Only then are you aware of the existence Of the beautiful blue mountains in the distance It is only then that you can see What was always meant to be And only when you reach the final sum It is then you see how far you’ve come |
