art The sun sets red on the horizon between the Golden Gate Bridge towers as a small sail boat
sails across the face of the sun in San Francisco Bay. This was the scene one night on the
ferry returning from a day of toil in the "city by the Bay". The perfection of the confluence
of the pieces of the view was unbelievable. Reading the paper I was alerted to the magnificent view
only by the loud cheer of friends who were drinking on the aft deck. While I sat there a friend
said to me, "If you painted that scene nobody would believe it." I agreed but I had to try. In the
following days and nights (and there were many year's worth) I never saw the scene again. It was
indeed unique!
