Mike's Mountain, the poem was
inspired by the person who commissioned the painting. The painting was
inspired by Mount Tam in Marin County, California. An idealized view from the
little meadow up Madrone Canyon near the old waterworks. November 1994.

Mike's MountainFrom the top of this mountain you can see Many fine views of Marin County At the top on a sun shinny day The air softly warm whispers as if to say Welcome to you -- enjoy the view The ocean to the west and to the east the bay A place to sit on a warm stone And think through your thoughts alone Or walk in the wild grass And let your troubles pass It can be a wonderful place to share It all has to do with being there |
