Driving up over Mount Leinster we stopped to see the “Nine Stones”. Coming down the other side we entered the delightful village of Bunclody where the celebrations of the night before left the village unusually quiet or so it seemed to me. A pub was painted the colors of the winning team, as were a few cars that passed by. On the way back to our rented house by another route and came upon this bridge. The sunlight lit up the white stones marvelously.

Bridge on the Road to BunclodyWe stayed in Gary Hill, in old County CarlowA place in Ireland, where ancient rivers flow We watched with interest the programs on R.T.E. The All Ireland Hurling Championship was shown live, on TV The village of Bunclody was a center of celebration The Hurling champions, heroes of the nation On the road from Myshall to Bunclody A beautiful bridge passed over the river Slaney The sides of the bridge were topped with stones so white That in the sun, it was an enchanting sight |
