art Early Morning Sleeping City was inspired by the gray
mornings coming across the bay from Larkspur to

Early Morning Sleeping City

In the early morning coming across the bay
You can see the city before the beginning of its hectic day
A few lights here and there it appears to be sleeping
Soon the cars, buses and trucks will compete with men sweeping
The fog, clouds, bay water and other dark gray hues
In no way express the gay and colorful life it imbues
Soon the clouds will pass and the fog will turn to steam
Lights will come on and people will start again the life they live and dream
