art Red Sails of a Galway Hooker was inspired by an actual sighting of a hooker moving with grace under full sail.

Music: The Old Rambler

Red Sails of a Galway Hooker

The Galway Hooker with red sails and a hull of shinning black
It sails out to sea from Claddaugh and the Spanish Arches but it will be back
For hundreds of years they have plied the Irish coasts from Galway Bay
We saw one in full sail on a gloriously sunny day
